Web Server Based Tools

It is rare that an new product exists in isolation; there are usually additional tools required for configuration, system diagnostics, or data capture.

Traditionally a command line or gui tool has been written for each of these functions and installed on each pc used to configure or diagnose the product. There are advantages however to keeping a single copy of these utility programs on a web server that any production or field application engineer can access.

CodeSprite has created client C++ applications and pure web-browser based systems with Perl server-side CGI applications to implement web-based tools. CodeSprite is developing a Java portfolio to allow truly platform-independent client-server applications.
